I've seen this movie countless times since it first aired on HBO in the 80's. Tonight upon watching it again, I discovered for the very first time that at the 1:23:18 mark...Cal bumped the Speedster with the Vette. At 1st I thought "Wow, Dennis slipped up on that ", but then realized a more appropriate conclusion - That...was an intentional shove between two opponents. I cant believe I never caught that until now.

The whole drama and suspense of the film is ruined by the makers crazy idea of taking scenes from the end of the film and tacking them on to the beginning of the film, a completely nonsensical idea which ruins many movies such as SERPICO, GANDHI, THE ST VALENTINES DAY MASSACRE, THE GENERAL and more. To avoid the ridiculous opening scenes START WATCHING AT 3:23.

Drifting is generally worse than properly attacking mg a corner, it’s done because it’s fun and looks awesome, as well as requiring skill. It’s not done to get across the track faster or in a way that’s old for your tires.

The movie "Tokyo Drift" really did Americans dirty lmao. The fact that the main character had a Southern accent and didn't know what the fuck drifting was is so stupid lmao. Dirt Rally racing is rad as fuck and it's almost ALL drifting. And also mostly in southern states. Literally the game series "Dirt" is built on the back of that shit, or at least used to be.
